Indispensable Tools for Scraping Lead Paint
I’ve been renovating doors and windows in our 120 year old home and was worried about containing the lead dust. I bought the Viper several months ago to hook up to my Festool HEPA vacuum based on a recommendation from a window restoration expert. The problem was I couldn’t find an adapter that would fit ends of both the Viper and Festool. A couple of weeks ago I went to a local hardware store to find some adapter that would work. Instead of the $30 most companies charge for Festool adapters I bought a $.99 PVC connector which I plugged into the Viper adapter; it worked perfectly. The Viper / Festool combinations is excellent with virtually no dust escaping the suction. I’ve scraped two sashes down to bare wood along with two window frames and am still using the original Viper blades. The Viper is now the only tool we use to scrape lead paint. Excellent product.
